Our Story
Ardstrum began over sixty years ago as a drop-in campus art & design studio founded by a creative group of like-minded colleagues featuring visual art educators, established artists, photographers, architects, and historians. By the turn of the century, Ardstrum had grown to incorporate several similar-minded affiliations spanning four continents who collaborated to share knowledge and resources primarily from an educational perspective.
Over time, the creative center attracted many university art students searching for not only comaraderie but also alternative theories, techniques, and shared opportunities. Although they worked largely parallel but adrift from the mainstream commercial art market, many developed successful careers in visual arts & design.
After the original founders passed and the global pandemic struck, reunions and shared spaces became rare. Ardstrum pivoted to a predominantly online model with emphasis on promoting a select group of carefully curated under-represented artists, offering collectible contemporary art at attractive prices to discerning buyers.
Our Mission
Ardstrum offers both seasoned and new collectors an exceptional colection of contemporary art that is timeless, poignant, and thought-provoking. We concentrate on an exclusive group of like-minded artists who believe that visual art should be available to everyone, not only for viewing in museums but also for living with in every home. This cooperative philosophy allows us to offer very competitive prices throughout our series, from originals to museum-grade limited editions and high-quality reproduction prints.
As part of our pledge to create not only great art but also a cleaner planet, our artists share our support of several green initiatives in their regions.
Our Artworks
In visual art, there are as many different tastes and preferences as there are artists. Budgets are equally varied. We believe Ardstrum has something that energizes you at values that any collector can appreciate.
Our artists produce original works of the highest quality without the high price tags. Limited editions on canvas, premium papers and alternative materials also feature artistic relevance and workmanship. Ardstrum also offers affordable open edtiions printed on durable acid-free materials with archival inks to ensure they maintain their vibrancy and visual appeal for years to come.
Most of Ardstrum’s signature limited editions are produced in-house via collaboration with the artists. Open-edition prints are shipped by our partners in Canada, USA, United Kingdom, and SE Asia in order to avoid importatiion costs and delays, thereby fulfilling scheduled deliveries in a timely manner at either limited or no additional shipping cost to the buyer.
